Injuries mounting up for Peterborough United ahead of Luton Town match

Injury problems are beginning to mount up for Peterborough United ahead of their League One clash against Luton Town at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick off).

Manager Robbie Savage has revealed that Harry Ashfield, Brandon Khela, Josh Feeney and Harry Leonard are all 50/50 to play against ‘The Hatters.’

Centre-back David Okagbue has been ruled out of the match entirely with an ankle problem and winger Owura Edwards is also rated as unlikely to feature.

Feeney is struggling with a dead leg and Leonard with a hip problem. Leonard was suspended for Tuesday’s League Cup tie at Bradford City, but would likely have been ruled out through injury regardless.

Savage said: “Harry’s injury is a grade one. It might be one of those you can get through. We will assess him. He won’t train on Thursday, but will attempt to on Friday.

“I am not one for making excuses. We’ve got a very, very good squad and if people are out than others will have opportunities. We believe in the group. The group will get us into a position where we should be fine, if we keep believing.

“I’ve got decisions to make, but what an opportunity for the boys that come in to think ‘I want to be part of this’. I’m not going to sit there after the game and complain over injuries, I’ve never once done it.”

Posh have received some good news though in that central defender Tom O’Connor has been passed fit and fellow defender Sam Hughes is considered available for selection again, but only for 45 minutes. Hughes hasn’t played in the Football League since May, 2025.
