Morning pitch inspection planned at Peterborough Sports as boss talks about a big turning point and a player has left the club
There will be a pitch inspection at PIMS Park early in the morning to see if Peterborough Sports’ scheduled National League North match against Spennymoor Town can go ahead on Saturday.
The inspection will take place at 8.15am. Sports survived a pitch inspection ahead of last Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Curzon Ashton after club chairman/owner Mike Woodward led the mopping up operations.

Sports are currently two places and four five points clear of the relegation zone after a decent run of form, but manager Phil Brown insists there is still plenty of work to do before safety is secured.
He enjoyed the signs he saw when Sports drew 0-0 at Buxton on Tuesday night.
"That game was a turning point for me,” Brown told Peterborough Community Radio. “We had an accident in the bus on the way to the game, but we didn’t let it bother us because we don’t bemoan that sort of thing any more, we just accept it as part and parcel of football and get on with things.
"We could still have lost the game in the first 25 minutes as Buxton came at us, and I am sure we would have lost it as recently as 10 games ago.
"But we stuck in and in the end we might have nicked a win. It might have been a smash and grab, but we were in a position that made it possible. In the end we take the point and move on.
"We have moved on as a club now in terms of performance, fitness and belief systems. When you have four points after eight games like we had your self-belief can be shot to pieces.
"We are still a work in progress, but we have made great strides. We are realising that hard work is always rewarded and the players have bought into what we want to do. We need to start collecting points though.”
Spennymoor are 16th, just three places and four points above Sports. They won their home game against Sports courtesy of a disputed penalty.
Defenders Connor Woods, Marcel Oakley and Charlie Hickingbottom could all return to the Sports squad tomorrow, but experienced centre-back Anthony Stewart remains on the injury list.
Centre-back Richard Faakye has left Sports after 12 appearances. His contract has been cancelled by mutual consent. Faakye is a former Swansea City player.
