Gas works set to begin after long running sewer repair works completed in Peterborough
A new set of major gas works are set to begin in the Ortons after long-running sewer repair works were completed.
A section of Goldhay Way, close to Alnwick and Pennington, has now reopened after being closed for investigation and sewer repair works by Anglian Water.
Initially large tankers were brought to the area to keep the sewage system working but these were then replaced by overground pipes. A temporary diversion was also put in place.
With the road now reopen, there is set to be a short period before planned gas works will begin.

From March 23,a section of Malborne Way will be closed.
The works were originally planned to be ongoing at the same time of the previous closure on Goldhay Way but these were rearranged at the request of councillor Kirsty Knight to avoid gridlock.
