With public bodies having seen their funding cut, the vast majority continue to raise their council tax precepts to try and plug the gap, or to increase their investment. Ahead of the new financial year, we list the percentages council tax precepts are going up by. This list does not include town or parish councils.
9. South Holland District Council
Plans for an increase of 2.83 per cent, taking the Band D rate up by £4.95 a year to £179.73.
10. South Kesteven District Council
A rise of 3.15 per cent has been proposed. The increase would see council tax rise by £5 for the average Band D property to £163.62
11. Northamptonshire County Council
A rise of four per cent, with two per cent ringfenced for adult social care
12. Northamptonshire police and fire services
Police, fire and crime commissioner Stephen Molds request to increase the cost for a Band D household for an extra £24 a year for policing and £1.76 a year for the fire service has been approved
