With public bodies having seen their funding cut, the vast majority continue to raise their council tax precepts to try and plug the gap, or to increase their investment. Ahead of the new financial year, we list the percentages council tax precepts are going up by. This list does not include town or parish councils.

6. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority
The fire authority has increased its share by 1.91 per cent.
7. Lincolnshire County Council (leader Martin Hill pictured)
A 3.5 per cent rise, with 2 per cent ringfenced for adult social care. It means an average Band D property will see a bill of £1,337.58, a £45 rise on last year

A 4.1% increase, taking the Band D rate up by £9.99 to £251.37 a year
