Calls for increased vigilance on fly-tipping in Peterborough
Calls have been made for increased vigilance to tackle fly-tipping in Peterborough.
The calls follow four large fridges being left blocking the pavement along Rock Road.
The fridges were placed on Tuesday (June 30). In response, Peterborough City Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Safety said: “I am disappointed to see four refrigerators illegally fly-tipped on Rock Road.
“How can something of this size be dumped without anyone seeing anything? This is our community, and we all need to do better at looking out for one another and protecting our neighbourhood.

“I will report this and ensure it is cleared as quickly as possible, but clearing it up is only part of the solution. We need to catch those responsible and put a stop to this behaviour.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dashcam footage, or witnessed anything suspicious, please contact me, Peterborough City Council, or the police. Even the smallest piece of information could help identify those responsible.
“Let’s work together to hold these individuals accountable and keep Rock Road and our community clean and safe for everyone.”
