Queensgate’s new Umami restaurant ‘opening soon’ as recruitment process continues

The restaurant is set to open later this autumn

A recruitment drive for the new Umami all-you-can-eat buffet in Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre is continuing, with the restaurant set to open its doors later this year.

A spokesperson for Umami told the Peterborough Telegraph that the restaurant plans to open “soon” as it continues to recruit staff members.

Umami is now accepting applications for roles including Sous Chef and Chef De Partie.

Once open, the new all-you-can-eat buffet experience will showcase over 100 dishes drawn from multiple cuisines, including Chinese, Italian, Indian, and Malaysian.

The concept will include a mix of family-friendly favourites alongside street food, and a teppanyaki station for made-to-order Japanese dishes.

The new restaurant will occupy a 7,000 sq ft space next to the Odeon cinema on the Third Floor, with building work having started in February.

Umami currently has restaurants in Blackpool, Leicester and Telford, with three more - including in Peterborough - set to open over the coming months.
