Whittlesey-based bowler making an impression on the World Bowls Tour
Whittlesey-based bowler Joe Randall is beginning to mark his mark on the World Bowls Tour scene.
Having reached the quarter-finals of the UK Open as a qualifier earlier this year, he reached the same stage of the Scottish Open having been a 'wildcard' late replacement for the event at the West Lothian club.

Earlier in the year he defeated two former world champions in Darren Burnett and Greg Harlow in the UK Open before losing to the 2025 world title winner Jason Banks in the last eight.
In last week's tournament, he overcame South Africa's Brad Robinson 10-2, 11-2 and England's Aaron Johnson 7-5, 6-5 before bowing out in the quarter-finals to Mark Dawes, another former world champion.
Yaxley man Nick Brett, who won the UK Open title, was unable to complete the double, losing to his long-time pairs partner Greg Harlow 6-7, 6-6 in the second round having beaten England's Paul Hartley 7-7, 7-5 in the opening round.
Next port of call for the World Bowls Tour will be the World Indoor Championships which begin at the Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk on January 8th.
