Peterborough’s July heatwave set to continue this week but rain on the way - full forecast
Temperatures are once again expected to hit the high 20s
Peterborough’s July heatwave is set to continue this week, but the city could get some brief respite from the heat over the coming days.
Last week temperatures hit 32C as Peterborough basked in its third heatwave of 2026, with the UKHSA issuing an amber heat health alert.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the high 20s this week, with Wednesday (July 15) expected to be the hottest day.

Rain is forecast for the weekend, although temperatures are expected to remain around the seasonal average.
The Met Office’s long range forecast, which covers the period between July 17 and July 26, says: “A change in weather pattern is likely by the start of this period, with the preceding dry and sunny weather breaking down into a more unsettled spell.
“Some heavy and thundery showers are likely, particularly across the south of the UK.
“Into the following week, a short spell of more settled weather is likely at first, before more changeable conditions return later.
“This brings showers or longer spells of rain at times, perhaps heavy and thundery in places. Temperatures are likely to be above normal.”
