Hilton hotel group unveils new plans for Peterborough

The Hilton hotel group has just unveiled exciting new plans for Peterborough as it adds a second hotel to its brand in the city.

The prestigious hotel group has just agreed a deal to add the 99-bedroom Peterborough Norman Cross hotel to its value-focused brand, Spark by Hilton.

Norman Cross is one of 10 hotels that have been added to the Spark by Hilton brand following an agreement signed on September 14 between Hilton and AG Hotels Group.

The company says the Norman Cross hotel, which sits just off the A1, is ideally placed to support one of the UK's busiest logistics and distribution locations, while also serving visitors to Peterborough's historic cathedral city and events venues.

It comes three years after the Milestone hotel was bought from Premier Inn by Milestone Hotels, which is part of the AG Group.

The Hilton group also has its Hilton Garden Inn branding on the 160-bedroom hotel at Fletton Quays which is currently being completed by new owners and is expected to open next summer.

Paul Blackmore, vice president, development, UK & Ireland, Hilton, said: “These signings underline the strength of demand for Spark by Hilton we are seeing from owners across the UK.

Girish Grover, founder and chief executive of AG Hotels Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with Hilton to expand Spark by Hilton across the UK.

"This landmark agreement is closely aligned with AG Hotels Group’s mission to create happy, thriving places nationwide and represents an important step in the next phase of our growth.

"Our strategy is to build a scaled, high-quality hospitality platform by acquiring, repositioning and investing in well-located hotels across the UK, combining strong operational capability with leading global brands.

"We see significant opportunity to grow our portfolio through further acquisitions, conversions and strategic partnerships, and we look forward to working with Hilton as we continue to expand."

The signings reflect continued interest in Spark by Hilton's conversion-friendly model, which enables existing hotels to reposition under a globally recognised brand while benefiting from Hilton's commercial platform and award-winning Hilton Honors loyalty programme.

Spark by Hilton was launched in 2023.
