Everything we know about the three new businesses confirmed to be opening in Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre over the next few months
Shoppers can look forward to three new openings
Excitement is building for the opening of three new businesses in Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre over the coming months.
Hoardings have already started appearing around the 44-year-old mall in preparation for the new businesses.
Queensgate’s three new openings will add to its current offering of more than 90 shops and 15 food and drink outlets.

The shopping centre’s most recent opening came earlier this year with Seoul Plaza, one of the UK’s most successful Korean supermarket chains.
At the end of 2025, Frasers opened its new 60,000 sq ft flagship store inside Queensgate’s former John Lewis site.
Umami
Umami World Kitchen, owned by the Cosmo Restaurant Group, is set to open inside the Queensgate Centre over the coming months.

The all-you-can-eat buffet operator has signed a 15-year lease on a 7,064 sq ft unit at the centre, positioned alongside key anchors Putt & Play and ODEON.
Umami already has restaurants in Blackpool, Middlesbrough and Telford.
The food on offer at Umami has been described as pan-Asian, blending casual dining with bold flavours.
Diners will be able to choose from over 100 dishes drawn from multiple cuisines, including Chinese, Italian, Indian, and Malaysian.

The concept will include a mix of family-friendly favourites alongside street food, and a teppanyaki station for made-to-order Japanese dishes.
Ink & Ember
Stamford-based independent book shop Ink & Ember is set to expand to Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre over the coming weeks.
Opening in either late May or June, the new Queensgate shop will be named ‘The Burrow’ and feature a 20-seat cafe. Ink & Ember’s Stamford shop, which also features a cafe, has gone from strength to strength since opening in April 2025.
Alongside offering a range of books, the new Peterborough shop will run creative workshops and even have a ‘hidden’ book shop for customers to explore.
The Burrow will lean into a boutique hotel theme with lots of hidden areas for visitors to explore.
Jamaica Blue
Coffee chain Jamaica Blue is opening in a new cafe on Queensgate’s Upper Mall, between Goldsmiths and O2.
The chain, which has 22 outlets across England, prides itself on “offering a diverse range of high-quality dishes, freshly made on the premises and prepared using premium, fresh ingredients”.
Founded more than 30 years ago in Australia, Jamaica Blue takes its name from the renowned Jamaica Blue Mountains, home to some of the finest coffee beans in the world.
Jamaica Blue is set to open its new Queensgate cafe on May 29, creating 20 jobs.
