Gallery: Traders’ delight at Market Deeping’s Christmas Market
The town’s Market Place was full of people for the tradition event on Sunday (November 29). Father Christmas arrived on his sleigh in the morning to declare the market open, leaving people free to browse the many stalls selling goods from cheeses, meats, and locally brewed beer to jewellery, paintings, gift ideas and much, much more.
As well as the traditional market and craft stalls, there was plenty of entertainment on stage from local groups and schools along with the Junior Town Crier competition.

The market gave a big boost to town centre businesses.
Alison Ireland, who runs Cloudnine gift shop, said: “A big thank you to everyone involved with the market today. Especially when other towns had cancelled due to the weather.
“It’s such an important day for us in the shop, it’s been a tough year and it’s always such a highlight for the team with so many regulars coming in and enjoying the festive spirit and our free shot of Bailey’s.”
Alison said she would give a donation to the town council to say thank you for organising such a great event.
