WATCH: Police arrest man in Peterborough drug-dealing 'hotspot'
Members of the local community raised concerns to police about drug-dealing in the area
A man who was caught buying crack cocaine at a drug-dealing ‘hotspot’ area in Millfield, Peterborough, has been jailed.
Neighbourhood officers were patrolling the area around Occupation Park on the afternoon of 18 December following concerns raised by the local community, when they spotted Dylon McGregor, 33, interacting with a group of known drug users.
A Cambs Police spokesperson said: “Catching up with McGregor near The Triangle underpass, he was detained for a stop-search when he admitted he had just bought seven wraps of crack cocaine at the park, resulting in his arrest.

“He was also found to be wanted in connection with the theft of £400 worth of reed diffusers from Next, at Brotherhood Retail Park, in Walton, Peterborough, earlier in the month.”
McGregor, of no fixed address, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday (24 January) where he was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession of crack cocaine and theft from a shop.
PC Olly Holmes, from the east Peterborough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Tackling drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour around the area of Occupation Park has been a priority for our team for a while now, after the community has raised it as a strong concern of theirs.
“We will continue to respond to this issue and are working with our colleagues across the force on cases against other people believed to be involved in drug dealing in this area. I would like to ask the public to continue reporting information to us though.”
