Police identify woman whose body was found in river near Peterborough
Police have now identified the woman whose body was found in a river in Deeping St James over the weekend.

Lincolnshire police have not publicly named the woman, who was 89 and from the Deeping St James area, as formal identification has not yet taken place.
The body was found in the River Welland near to houses on Eastgate, Deeping St James on Sunday. Officers were called to the area at 7.30am by a local resident.
The woman was recovered from the water a short time later. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Officers are still appealing for information about the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire police by calling 101. The woman is described as around 5ft 4 of medium build, with white/grey hair, and was wearing a brown tartan woollen coat that had a hood, over a long haired bright orange top, a brown silk headscarf worn round the neck, cream trousers, blue socks and blue sandals. It is possible that the woman may have used a wooden walking stick with a curved handle.
