Man jailed for 16 months for stabbing outside Peterborough kebab shop
An attacker who stabbed a man he thought had rung the bell on his e-scooter left outside a kebab shop has been jailed for 16 months.
Police say that Kris Stimson (44) was in a kebab shop in Fitzwilliam Street in the early hours of the morning when he became enraged after hearing another customer ring the bell on his e-scooter outside the takeaway.
A police spokesperson said: “Mistakenly believing it was the victim, an argument ensued outside.
"He produced a knife and stabbed the man to the abdomen, before leaving the scene and discarding the weapon behind some locked gates in Geneva Street.

"Members of the public attempted to stem the victim’s bleeding, before paramedics arrived and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The victim underwent surgery, was placed in an induced coma and required further treatment for several weeks before being discharged.”
The attack occurred at 2.30am on June 20 last year.
Police say following the attack officers put a cordon in place and recovered the weapon following Stimson’s attempts to hide it.

The spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said: “Armed police found Stimson nearby and had to use incapacitant spray to arrest him.
"Whilst in custody, Stimson enquired about whether the man had died.”
Stimson, of Greenham, Bretton, Peterborough, admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm without intent and possession of a knife in public and was jailed for 16 months at Cambridge Crown Court on August 28.
DC John Pentney said: “I would like to commend the members of the public who stemmed the victim’s bleeding while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
"Their actions could well have contributed to him surviving.”
