Peterborough builder shortlisted for Screwfix Tradesperson of the year award
Peterborough builder Adriano Nocera has been shortlisted for Screwfix’s Top Tradesperson Award 2020.
The 51-year-old, who runs Allbright Property Maintenance, is up against nine other finalists who have made it to the virtual event.
The winner will be announced on Friday (October 2) and they will receive a £20k prize bundle.
This will consist of £5000 to spend on technology (laptops, desktops and tablets from a Screwfix approved supplier), £10,000 worth of credit to spend at Screwfix and an allowance of up to £5000 to spend on career enhancing courses/workshops (e.g. website design, social media, business accounts, finance, specialist trade courses.)
The winner will also receive digital skills training and a series of bespoke one-to-one mentoring sessions from Google to help their business stay at the top of their game online.
The competition was open to anyone tradesperson, not working for Screwfix, over the age of 18 in the UK or Republic of Ireland. Adriano was selected from over 2500 entries.
He will take part in the virtual final across two days next week and will aim to impress a panel of judges with his passion for the trade and brilliant customer service.
The bespoke event will also include multiple training sessions from Google Digital Garage to upskill the finalists on how to use online to find new customers.
Adriano is thrilled to have reached the final stage. He said: “I have worked hard my entire career and reaching the final is a real achievement.
“We support over 1000 properties in the area, including children’s homes - helping to improve families’ lives.
“Being a finalist is something I am very proud of.”
Simon Jackson, Customer and Digital Director at Screwfix, added: “We recognise the importance of supporting our tradespeople, now more than ever.
“We want to reward them for their hard work in keeping their communities and customers safe in their homes.
“We have seen thousands of quality entrants this year and I look forward to meeting the finalists, as we look to crown one high calibre individual as Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2020.
“I’d like to congratulate Adriano for reaching the final and I wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
