That made it 16 wins from 22 games for a team some expected to struggle at Division One level. Instead a great team spirit, impressive organisation and a terrific work ethic ensured they finished just two points behind champions Cambridge City seconds.

city really came on strong in the second half of the season when the pressure was at its greatest. Yesterday’s win was a ninth in their final 10 games and the other was drawn.

Anna Faux opened the scoring for City with Robyn Gribble making it 2-0 before the students pulled a goal back just before half time.

City dominated the secon period with Jeorgia Carr, Tierney Augustine and Emma Faux netting before a late University consolation.
