Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has expressed his pride in the Posh players and management after a six-game winning streak sent them four points clear at the top of League One.

But the man who dubbed the 2020-21 campaign ‘Operation Vengeance’ after Posh saw their promotion hopes dashed by a controversial end to last season insists he isn’t getting over-excited - he’s leaving that to the club’s fans.

“We’ve had some magnificent results,” MacAnthony enthused. “I’m very proud of how we’ve won games in style and by coming from behind. I’m also proud of the subs who haven’t been getting much game time, but who are still making good contributions.

“I’m not getting over-excited though, I’ll leave that to the fans. There is still a long way to go. I’ll get excited at the end of the season if we’re still at the top.”
