Emergency roadworks were carried out on the A47 overnight.
Highways England attended the road at South Brink in Wisbech, in the direction towards Guyhirn, and carried out a temporary repair to fill in a large pothole.
Cambridgeshire police said the pothole “claimed a vehicle” last night.
The works have now been completed.
