Power restored in Peterborough after earlier power cut

Power has been restored in an area of Peterborough after a power cut earlier this morning (March 5).

Power outages were reported in the central PE1 area of the city, encompassing Rivergate, Station Road, Bishop’s Road and Northminster.

Engineers arrived on the site at 8:38am and found the issue had been caused by a fault on the electricity network. The cause of this is not immediately known.

The fault was resolved quickly though with the remaining customers fully restored with power by 11:36am.

A spokesperson from UK Power Networks said: “Engineers from UK Power Networks attended a site following a fault on the electricity network.

“They worked safely and quickly to restore supplies with all customers back on by 11.36am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
