The collapse of contractors Carillion will cost Peterborough City Council nearly £450,000 extra for the building of the new Hampton Lakes Primary School, and to expand Jack Hunt School in Netherton.

Both projects have had to be delayed due to the council finding a replacement contractor.

The Jack Hunt works will cost the council an extra £300,000, and the building of the new primary school will cost an extra £148,000.

A council spokesman said both projects remain in budget despite the added costs.
