Accusations of assault between Peterborough City Councillors to be assessed by police
The incident occurred at the end of a Full Council meeting on Monday, May 23.
Both Councillor John Shearman, Labour member for Park Ward, and Councillor David Seaton, a member of the cabinet and Conservative member for Hampton Vale, submitted complaints against each other to the council.

Hide AdA council spokeswoman said: “The complaints have been reviewed under the council’s code of conduct and have been referred to the police to see if there is a case to answer in relation to the accusations of assault.”
