Fire crews were called out to rescue a horse from a ditch in Chatteris.

Crews from Chatteris, Sutton and animal rescue specialists from Dogsthorpe were called to rescue the animal after it had fallen into a ditch at Sixteen Foot Bank.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “With assistance from a nearby farmer and his telehandler, the horse was successfully rescued✅.

“We’re pleased to say she is recovering well at home with her owner.”
