Businessmen come to aid of Peterborough homeless
Local charity the Light Project managed to accommodate 60 homeless people in a local hotel, so they had shelter, but director Steve Pettican was looking for help with their other needs - and that help has come from a number of businesses.
Two more offered support this week: first Shaz Hamid, of East Anglia Laundry, in Orton Southgate, offered to wash the clothes for free. Then the proprietor of Madina Grill, in Lincoln Road, Millfield, Mohammed Tariq, has pledged to provide free meals once a week.
