A-LEVEL RESULTS: Stanground Academy celebrates success

Students at Stanground Academy are celebrating after receiving their results for their A-Level or Equivalent courses of study.

A-Level performance saw a 100 per cent pass rate with an increase of 16 percentage points in the average point score (APS) per entry.

Performance in vocational qualifications also improved with the percentage of students acheiving two or more vocational equivalents of A-Levels rising five per cent to 82 per cent.

The percentage of students achieving three or more vocational qualifications rose 15 per cent and now stands at 57 per cent.#

A student that did remarkably well, Jodie Bailey, achieved an A* in English Literature, an A in Philosophy, an A in English Language and a C in French and has secured a place at the University of East Anglia to study Enlish Literature and Philosophy.

Krzysztof Kasprzak also did well, and achieved an A* in Polish, a B in Mathematics, a B in Further Mathematics as well as a C in Physics which has got him a place at De Montfort University studying Mathematics.

“Yet again, under the guidance of our dedicated staff, our students have continued the improvement we are seeing year-on-year in the A-Level and Level 3 vocational results at the Stanground Academy.

“With a 100 per cent pass rate and more students than ever before achieving grades above their expected levels of progress, out students should be proud of their success.

“This is a true reflection of what hard work, commitment and focus can do.

“I would like to congratulate our students and offer my thanks to the Academy staff who have made this possible, ensuring that each of our students is well equipped to follow their chosen pathway as they move forward in the next stage of their life.”
