Police were called to Tydesdale on Sunday night, April 24, and found VHS tape pulled tight across the road close to Bretton Way.

Officers said that they were concerned that if a cyclist or motorcyclist had hit the tape, almost invisible in the dark, they could have been seriously injured.

A spokesman added: “This could potentially cause an accident and so we would like to urge individuals to be vigilant of this and to contact us on 101 if you become aware of such an issue.”
