Historic Worcester

Join The Worcester Steam Express from March or Peterborough stations on Saturday, April 6, for a classic day out by steam train combining main line running with a visit to Worcester.  This fine city is set on the River Severn and is famous as the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar and as the location of the final battle of the English Civil War.  It is worth visiting the magnificent cathedral and wandering around the historic centre.

The Tynesider

On Saturday, June 8, The Railway Touring Company’s ‘Tynesider’  will depart from Huntingdon and Peterborough and stop at York where an historic steam locomotive will join the train.  Steaming onward, this train will visit Newcastle upon Tyne with its many bridges, cathedral, shops and Gateshead’s Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and The Sage.

Fascinating York

The White Rose from Huntingdon and Peterborough on Saturday, July 13, will whisk you away to the historic city of York where there is lots to see and do, including the magnificent Minster, famous medieval Shambles, river cruises and excellent museums including the National Railway Museum.

Shakespeare country

Later in the year, on Saturday, September 7, The Stratford Flyer is set to depart from March and Peterborough stations to steam across the Cheshire plain and through scenic Warwickshire countryside to Stratford upon Avon, well-known for being Shakespeare’s birthplace.  There, you can see sights including the Bard’s New Place home, the Memorial Theatre and the Avon riverfront.

Treat yourself – dine on board
