Whittlesey Festival is a huge success
The Whittlesey Festival on Sunday 13 September was a huge success, with excellent feedback all round. Visitors came from far and wide, neighbouring towns and cities and even someone who was on holiday from Australia.

The day started with a colourful, vibrant parade from Broad Street to the Market Square with the magnificent sound of the Tri-Counties Pipes and Drums filling the air. Leading the way, they were followed by The Starlite Twirlettes majorettes along with many other local community groups. Thank you to all who took part and to everyone who cheered on the parade and waved flags as it passed by. After the Mayor of Whittlesey, Cllr. Alex Miscandlon officially opened the event it was smiles all the way as everyone enjoyed the performances on the Market Square, Church Yard Green and in St Mary’s Church. The streets were lined with an amazing display of over 100 vintage vehicles, together with numerous stalls to suit all tastes.
Other popular attractions were the Craft Fair and the Festival Schools Art Competition in the Whittlesey library which will remain on display until noon on Friday 25th September during library opening times.
