School field transformed into Autumn Wonderland for first-ever pumpkin patch
“For many children, it was their very first time experiencing the autumn tradition.”
Peterborough's Fulbridge Academy turned its school grounds into a vibrant sea of orange this week, hosting its first-ever school community Pumpkin Patch.

The special event, held on Thursday 22nd October, at the New England school, part of The Four Cs Academy Trust, welcomed hundreds of pupils and their families onto the main school field to pick, carve, and celebrate the autumn season together after school finished for the day. Alongside rows of bright orange pumpkins, families enjoyed walking through the field of pumpkins, carving or drawing their designs at the carving stations and posed for festive family photos in a custom autumn-themed photo booth.
The initiative was designed to bring the school community together while providing an accessible, festive experience right on the doorstep for their families. For many children, it was their very first time experiencing the autumn tradition.

Mr Angier, Vice Principal said: "The field and playground were absolutely filled with smiles and excitement. We are incredibly grateful to our hard-working staff and site team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event run so smoothly. Seeing our families come together like this is exactly what our school community is about. Hearing from parents that this was their children's very first time pumpkin picking made all the hard work entirely worth it."
The event at the received overwhelming praise from parents and carers for its organisation and welcoming and fun atmosphere. Following the tremendous success of this event, the academy extends its warmest thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event.
