New Site Leader appointed at Amazon in Peterborough
Amazon has announced Kareem Edwards as the new Site Leader at its Peterborough fulfilment centre.

Kareem joined Amazon in 2016 through the company's Pathway Graduate Program after previously working in the energy industry across the Caribbean, Australia and the UK. Drawn to Amazon by the opportunity to lead large teams and work in a fast-growing business, he has since built a career spanning operations, logistics and strategic programmes across the UK and Europe.

Kareem began his Amazon career at Amazon's Swansea fulfilment centre before supporting the launch of the company's first cross-dock building in the UK in Coventry. He later held leadership roles in the South East before joining Amazon Logistics, where he worked on strategic programmes across Europe and supported the launch of delivery stations throughout the UK. Most recently, Kareem has led operations at one of Amazon's busiest fulfilment centres before taking on his new role in Peterborough.
Throughout his career, Kareem has focused on building high-performing teams and creating positive working environments. During the launch of Amazon's Coventry receive centre, he helped develop one of the site's highest-performing teams - an experience he says continues to shape his leadership approach today.

Speaking about his new role, Kareem said: “Leadership is a privilege and that's exactly how I see this role. I have the opportunity to help create an environment where people can be the best versions of themselves, while continuing to improve how we operate every day.
“I'm looking forward to getting to know the team, understanding the site and building strong relationships across the local community. It's important to me that we're not only delivering for customers but also making a positive contribution to the communities around us."
Kareem is also passionate about strengthening Amazon's links with the community and charities in the areas. In his previous Amazon role, he served as a board member for a local University Technical College and welcomed more than 300 students to tour the Amazon fulfilment centre in Dartford, giving them an insight into careers in engineering, operations and technology.
Speaking about the opportunities available at Amazon, Kareem added: “My advice to anyone considering a career at Amazon is to stay curious. There are so many different career paths available, whether that's in operations, engineering, IT or logistics and there are lots of different routes into the business.
“If you're looking for somewhere you can make a real impact, develop as a leader and continue learning. Amazon is a fantastic place to build a career.”
Amazon's Peterborough fulfilment centre plays an important role in the company's UK operations, creating employment opportunities for local people while helping deliver customer orders across the region and beyond.
