Cambridgeshire housebuilder donates books to boost wellbeing at local school
To coincide with Youth Mental Health Day (18th September), a five-star housebuilder has donated a collection of mental health and wellbeing books to Glebelands Primary School.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes, which is building nearby at Chatteris Gate, donated a bundle of books aimed at guiding primary pupils through the ups and downs of looking after their mental wellbeing.
Among the books donated by Barratt and David Wilson Homes were titles including ‘The Unworry Book’ by Alice James, ‘Why should I say sorry’ by Rose Hall and ‘Friendship Survival Guide’ by Caroline Young.
Nicola Folwell, Deputy Head Teacher at Glebelands Primary School, said: “The pupils at Glebelands will really benefit from this donation. Mental wellbeing is a priority for us and these books will enable the children to think about how they express their feelings. We are extremely thankful for the support.”
Youth Mental Health Day, organised annually by mental health charity stem4, brings together young people, schools, families and organisations across the UK to promote positive mental wellbeing and support young people to thrive.
The mental health themed books cover a range of topics for a variety of age groups and reading levels, meaning pupils of all ages can find a book suitable for them. Many of the books also include interactive features to help the children express their feelings and relieve anxiety.
Kerry Mullen, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Glebelands Primary school to support pupils’ mental wellbeing through this donation. These books are a wonderful way to encourage important conversations and help young people feel more confident talking about how they feel.”
Chatteris Gate offers peaceful countryside living in the scenic Fens with convenient access to a range of local amenities including schools, shops, supermarkets and leisure facilities.
The development is well-connected, with direct rail links from nearby March and Manea to towns and cities including Peterborough, Ely and Cambridge.
