Bayleaf Care Home residents enjoy a trip down memory lane
Residents from Bayleaf Care Home in Huntingdon took a nostalgic trip down memory lane when they attended the Ramsey 1940’s Camp at their annual weekend event.

The Ramsey 1940s Weekend is one of the most beloved living history events in the region and every August, the historic camp comes alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of the 1940’s with a warm, family-friendly celebration of wartime Britain that brings together history enthusiasts, re-enactors, vintage vehicle owners, traders, and curious visitors of all ages.
The Bayleaf residents enjoyed a tour of the site where they were amazed by the war-time memorabilia and all of the aircraft and vehicles on display. After the tour they were treated to refreshments which gave them the chance to reflect and share their own memories.
Bayleaf resident John ‘Basha’ Evans is a military veteran with a long and distinguished career in the special forces and was proudly wearing his regimental beret throughout the day.
Katie Wilkinson, General Manager at Bayleaf Care Home, said: “It was so nice to be able to take the residents to the Ramsey 1940’s Camp. They all have so many of their own stories and memories whether it was serving in the military or living through wartime Britain and days like today give them the chance to share their stories”.
