Freda Smith, who was born on July 12th 1924, was joined by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as staff from the home and her fellow residents for a very special birthday lunch at the home before Freda and her guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef Stephane Roqueta.
Katie Wilkinson General Manager of Bayleaf Care Home added: “We’re delighted to get the opportunity to acknowledge a truly remarkable woman as she celebrates 102 amazing years. Freda is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell, and we look forward to hearing many more. We have a few more surprises for Freda over the next couple of days and cannot wait to see her reaction.”

Speaking of the day, Freda said: I have had a wonderful day with my family all here with me. I never thought that I would celebrate being 102 and yet I still feel so well and so young’.
