Peterborough Women's Festival to take place this weekend
Peterborough Women’s Festival will take place this weekend – moving to a new venue for 2026.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, and is organised by Peterborough Trades Union Council (PTUC), supported by UNISON Peterborough City Branch.
The festival has been arranged for the nearest Saturday to International Women's Day, which this year is Sunday, March 8.
For the past 13 years, the event has been held at Peterborough Town Hall, but with ongoing work putting the Town Hall's Reception Room out of use, the 2026 festival will take place at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery on Priestgate.

Co-organiser Hazel Perry (Secretary of PTUC) said, 'we are delighted to be taking over the ground floor of Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery this year and are thankful for the support of the staff there. In keeping with the historical theme we're looking forward to having a storytelling session with Peterborough Women's History Group and some exhibition stalls, including Thorney Women and Peterborough Women Against Nuclear Weapons.'
Attendees will be able to receive workplace advice from trade union stalls, attend art & crafts and wellbeing workshops, hear from speakers on international subjects concerning women's rights, purchase books from local authors, and visit a variety of stalls run by women, for women. Attendees are invited to join in the 'Art Lockers' project, and to end the day with 'Grrls to the Front,' an hour of spoken word performances by ten phenomenal poets. curated by Helen Cross.
Peterborough Women's Festival will take place between 11am and 4pm, and is free to attend
