K-Pop Superstars to brings a summer of community entertainment to a close in Peterborough
After welcoming thousands of visitors throughout the summer, Peterborough Event Zone will bring its successful programme of family entertainment at The Willow Café to a spectacular close tomorrow (Saturday) with the highly anticipated K-Pop Superstars live stage show.
The Zone was the brainchild of John Walker, a Peterborough-born entrepreneur with a passion for creating community-focused events.
John approached Willow Café proprietors Adrian and Christine Corrigan with the vision of transforming an area of Central Park into a vibrant, family-friendly destination, beginning with a World Cup Fan Zone.
The event was supported by local DJ Matt Andrews & Brad Warby, founders of the popular Casa Mombo event brand, while catering was provided by local favourites 2020 World Buffet, creating an atmosphere that celebrated both football and local businesses.
Thousands of residents attended throughout England’s World Cup campaign, with many praising the welcoming atmosphere, safe environment and strong community spirit.
Building on the success of the fan zone, Peterborough Event Zone expanded its programme to include a variety of family entertainment throughout the summer.
Highlights included the hugely popular Princess Teddy Bear Picnic, featuring beloved characters from Darling Princess Parties, as well as Proms in the Park, showcasing performances from local vocal duo Classical Reflection alongside the talented Alerion Strings string quartet.
Now, the team are preparing to round off their residency at The Willow Café with one final celebration.
Taking centre stage on Saturday is K-Pop Superstars, a high-energy, live production inspired by the global phenomenon of Korean pop music.
Designed for families and young fans, the production features an all-female cast of four talented performers delivering spectacular choreography, stunning costumes, powerful vocals and hit songs inspired by world-famous artists including BTS and BLACKPINK.
