Peterborough City rower Alasdair Ryder swept the opposition away at the Twickenham Regatta over the weekend.

Ryder took part in the Men’s Masters D/E Single Sculls race over a fast-paced 850m sprint course on the River Thames and won by a massive four-and-a-half lengths.

There was also a brilliant showing in the Men’s Open Double Sculls, where Tom Calver and Oliver Barber fought their way through the knockout heats to book a place in the final.

In a fierce, seat-for-seat battle, the duo pushed hard all the way to the line, finishing a courageous second after being edged out by just one-and-a-half lengths.
