Londoner Luke won a high-class snooker classic at the Broadway club, plus the latest darts and golf results
Peter Devlin defeated Luke Simmonds 2-0 in the final to win the Legends Tour Snooker Classic, lifting the Tony Gregory Trophy and pocketing the £600 first prize at the city’s Broadway Club.
The London-based 28 year-old, who was on the main professional tour six years ago, was in fine form throughout the day, despatching local star Graham Bradford, two-time Shoot-Out winner Gary Skipworth and defending champion Jamie Turner en route to the final without dropping a frame.
Simmonds, who collected £300 as runner-up, used all his experience to secure victory over former professional Tony Brown 3-0, before edging past Luke Pinches and city potter Darren Bampkin, appearing in his first semi-final for two years, both in deciders.
Pinches from Norwich claimed the £20 highest break prize with a fabulous 132, and also had a 118 in his first round encounter with Steve Martin, whom hadcontributed to a quality encounter with an effort of 91.
Next up is the inaugural Snooker Open at the end of the month.

Boulevard Phoenix have won the Peterborough Clubs MIxed Pairs League. Sean Leedell threw a maximum 180 in their final game, a 6-1 win over Farcet.
