Emerging star Alfie completes a hat-trick of race wins at Donington Park

Alfie Garford, an emerging motorsport star from Maxey, completed a hat-trick of race wins at Donington Park

Garford announced himself in the 2026 Mini Challenge JCW sport season in emphatic fashion, in front of packed grandstands and live ITV4 cameras on the British Touring Car Championship support bill.

The 17 year-old Loughborough College student delivered a flawless weekend that combined pace, control and maturity in equal measure.

Race one saw him convert pole into victory with a measured, lights-to-flag performance, controlling the pace and never allowing the chasing pack an opportunity.

In race two he once again delivered, absorbing attacks and managing the race with the calm assurance of a seasoned front-runner.

And in the final race he worked his way through traffic with precision, picking his moments and executing clean overtakes to return to the front.

Garford said: “To come into JCW Sport and take three wins like that is pretty special. The team gave me a mega car all weekend and we just executed everything we needed to. Doing it on a BTCC weekend, in front of that crowd and on TV, well that’s what you work for.”

Team principal Pete Osborne praised Garford’s composure as much as his outright speed. He said: “Alfie has been exceptional. To step into a new class on a stage like this and deliver three wins is a huge achievement. What stood out most was his control — every race was managed properly, every situation handled correctly. That’s what wins championships. It’s a fantastic start, but it also sets a very clear benchmark for the rest of the season.”
