The City of Peterborough club at Bretton Gate and Longthorpe Tennis club on Thorpe Road have both re-opened for members.

Strict social distancing rules have been applied so it’s singles only unless a doubles match can be organised by members of the same household.

Longthorpe have cut their annual fees to reflect on a shortened year and introduced a court booking system for the first time.

The club have four courts, all with an artificial playing surface.

City of Peterborough have three outdoor hard courts and two indoor courts, but only the outdoor courts are currently in use.

City have spent half a million pounds on their facilities.

* The Hunts & Peterborough Tennis League are expected to make a decision on whether or not to play their mens and ladies leagues early in June.

Their 2020 mixed league has already been abandoned. The same sex divisions usually start in July.

Players have already been denied the chance to compete in the 100th anniversary Hunstanton Festival in August.

That event was cancelled last month.
