City men competed against each other in latest Legends Snooker tour event final
Luke Simmonds and Simon Coulson defeated Colin Mitchell and Jason Bowles 4-0 in the final to lift the Legends Snooker Team Cup and claim the £550 top prize at the city's Broadway Club on Sunday.
Having lost to the runners-up in their opening Group B match before easing through in second place on 8 points, they survived a major scare in their last four clash with former champion Kristian Willetts and local hope Graham Bradford, squeezing past them on the final black in the deciding doubles before completing a memorable victory.

Although this was Simmonds’ third tour title in the last five months, it was a first for Coulson, a Peterborough-based potter who finally added silverware to his collection having never been beyond the first round of any event before.
Mitchell, who was a professional in the 1990s, produced some fine play throughout the day, accompanied by partner Jason Bowles, also from the city, but ultimately fell short in the showpiece match.
The Legends Tour now takes its summer break, but returns for the Champions Trophy where the excitement and drama continues in September as 16 players battle for the title and the £600 first prize.
