A five-star return to the Premier League for City of Peterborough Ladies as Tierney hits a hat-trick on her competitive comeback
City of Peterborough Women delivered a five-star showing on their return to the East Premier Division.
Last season’s Division One champions won 5-1 at Chelmsford with returning star Tierney Carlton claiming a hat-trick.

Carlton missed last season to become a mum, but netted within five minutes of her competitive comeback and added a second goal on 25 minutes from a short corner.
Hannah Grimshaw and Bella Weinand scored early in the second-half before Carlton completed her hat-trick after the hosts had pulled a goal back.
City, who were the biggest winners on the opening day of the top-flight season, are on the road again next Saturday when visiting Cambridge City seconds (September 19).
It was a fine opening East League day for most of the City sides with seven wins, two draws and a defeat recorded.
