Peterborough Phantoms lose popular defenceman to a German club

Popular defenceman Joe Hazeldine won’t be returning to the Peterborough Phantoms for the 2020-21 season.

Hazeldine who appeared for Phantoms on loan from parent club Nottingham Panthers in the second half of last season has won a contract with German team Lausitzer Füchse, where he will ice for their under 23 side.

Former Phantoms coach Corey Neilson is the head coach at Lausitzer Füchse.

Hazeldine settled in well at Planet Ice and quickly won over the club’s fanbase. with a string of strong performances.

Phantoms are still in the dark as to when their National League season will start. Fears are mounting it could be delayed until the New Year as no fixtures have yet been released.
