Forward has left the struggling Peterborough Phantoms

Forward Morgan Clarke-Pizzo has left the struggling Peterborough Phantoms.

The 26 year-old asked to be released from his contract at Planet Ice and the club have reluctantly agreed. Clarke-Pizzo is now expected to join another National League club.

Clarke-Pizzo only rejoined Phantoms in time for the start of last season when he picked up nine goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances. He had failed to score this season, but contributed five assists in seven appearances.

A club statement read: ‘We’d like to thank Morgan for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.’

It’s been a tough season for next-to-bottom Phantoms so far. They’ve won just four of 15 National League games and scored the second fewest number of goals (45) and conceded the second most (82).

Only bottom club Bristol have worse records.
