Appearances and goals are for League One matches only. The rating key: A-Excellent, B-Very good, C-Good, D- Poor, E-Dreadful.
1. Ivan Toney: Grade A. Appearances: 31, Goals 23
The best player in the division by some distance. A complete all-round striker who is destined for bigger things, once hes helped Posh into the Championship of course. His sole flaw is his discipline, but a shoo-in for all the player-of-the year
awards and the key man for the rest of the current campaign.
2. Sammie Szmodics. Grade: A-. Appearances: 8 Goals: 4
What an impact the on-loan Bristol City attacker has made in his
short time at the club. Hes been so good Marcus Maddison has become an afterthought in the minds of most Posh fans. Quick, aggressive and positive, Szmodics has quickly formed a lethal partnership with Toney, one that should flourish as the season reaches its climax
3. Jack Taylor: Grade B+. Appearances: 9 Goals: 2
There were many raised eyebrows when Posh forked out 500k last month for a National League midfielder, but nine games into his new career that price looks an absolute steal. Taylor looks to have it all. The ability to pass accurately over a wide range with either foot, to score goals and to compete physically. He has a big role to play until May.
4. Frankie Kent. Grade B+. Appearances: 28 Goals: 1
The injury which currently has this composed and classy central defender on the
sidelines needs to clear up quickly. The absence of Toney was a big factor in the
defeat at Fleetwood, but the winning goal came from the side of the defence
Kent would have been patrolling. The summer signing from Colchester has been the most consistent defender.
