In a twist on a regular topic, we’ve selected the best players in A to Z form, but how on earth do you choose between Mackail-Smith, McCann and Mclean?
Or between Gayle, Gooding, Gregory and Gynn?
Do you agree with our choices?
Have we missed anyone out?

NB: There are no Posh players with a surname beginning with a U or an X, although W. Upton (1935-36) and P. Urien (1945-46) played for the club before they reached the Football League in 1960.

Just the two candidates here. This pretty ordinary striker and a centre-back, Ashley VICKERS, who was sent off on his Posh debut following a wild challenge and never played for the club again! Photo: David Lowndes

22. W - Jim WALKER
One of the the most decorated players in the club’s history. A left-back who contributed to multiple Midland League title wins and that Fourth Division title success of 1960-61. Other top Posh defenders were John WILE, Brian WRIGHT and Steve WELSH. Walker is second right in a pic taken at the club's 75th anniversary dinner. Also pictured, left to right, are Scott Houghton, Noel Luke, John Linnell, Jim Hall, and John Cozens. Photo: .

23. Y - Eric YOUNG
Almost a blank, but this midfielder did help steer Posh away from the bottom of Division Four after joining on loan from new manager Noel Cantwell's old club Manchester United in 1972. Photo: Getty Images

24. Z - Gaby ZAKUANI
Club legend, double promotion-winning centre-back also known as ‘The Wall.’ Steve ZENCHUK is the only other ‘Z’ man and the young goalkeeper was a winner in his only appearance when he deputised for the great David Seaman. Photo: Alan Storer
