A perfect time then to grade the players for their performances and efforts so far this season. It’s fair to say ‘must do better’ applies to many. Players must have made five League One appearances to qualify for a grade.
Grading key: A: Outstanding, B: Very Good. C: Steady. D: Poor, E: Very disappointing.

13. MALIK MOTHERSILLE - B+
He’s usually been good, and occasionally very good, either on the left-wing or at centre forward. Quick, skilful, but with a sound technique. He will only get better. Only he and Jones have appeared in every League One game so far. Photo: s

14. GEORGE NEVETT - C
Looks a high-class, ball-playing defender in the making. Only a small sample of work to judge though and there are question marks over his physicality just now. Photo: s

15. DONAY O'BRIEN-BRADY - C+
Stepped up impressively when one of the big two central midfielders was missing. Not been seen much lately though. Scored his first EFL goal in a 2-1 home win over Stevenage. Photo: Joe Dent

16. ABRAHAM ODOH - C+
Rarely lets the team down when called upon. Good technique and quality, can see a pass and scores goals, although only in cups so far. Knocking on the door of a regular start. Photo: s
