But they’ve had so me brilliant number ones in the past.
Here are my top 13 Posh goalkeepers of all time, in reverse order. They have to be goalkeepers I’ve seen in action (first game, 1972) and they have to have made at least 15 appearances.
My judgement is based on how they played for Posh. I also include information on what happened to them after they left the club.
Let me know what you think.

9. 5th JOE LEWIS
Posh years: 2008-12. Posh appearances: 190. Won a promotion from League One in his first season at the club, but was more impressive the following season when Posh were relegated after an horrific season at Championship level. Lewis was excellent when Posh went straight back up again the following season. He left Posh for Cardiff at the end of the 2011-12 season, but barely played for the Welsh club. He joined Aberdeen in 2016 and went past 250 appearances for the club, including some in Europe, last season. Lewis is currently in his second spell as Dons skipper. Photo: David Lowndes.

10. 4th: IAN FEUER
Posh years: 1995. Posh appearances: 16. The 6ft 7ins American was the sixth goalkeeper Posh used in a League One season when he arrived on loan from West Ham. His arrival co-incided in a first Posh win in 15 games and John Still's side didn't lose any of his new keeper's first eight matches. He was a superb ball-handling acrobat, but Posh had no money so couldn't buy him. Feuer was sold to Luton the following season for over half a million pounds before returning to play in his homeland for a season. He returned to England to play for Rushden & Diamonds, West Ham (again), Derby and Wimbledon. He was LA Galxay's goalkeeping coach for six years and was last seen working as an assistant coach for a Women's college team in the United States. Photo: David Lowndes

11. 3rd ERIC STEELE
Posh years: 1973-77. Posh appearances: 148. Posh manager Noel Cantwell loaned Steele from Newcastle United and he quickly became a popular figure at London Road after helping the club to the 1973-74 Fourth Division title. Steele (pictured centre with Keith Waugh on his right) went on to create a club record of 148 consecutive appearances before Brighton paid £18k for his services. He was famously presented with a bouquet of flowers when he returned to London Road by a Posh fan who entered the field of play to make the delivery. Steel went on to play for Watford, Derby and Southend before retiring to run a pub/restaurant in Derby. He wasn't out of football for long though as he became one of the country's best goalkeeping coaches at Derby, Aston Villa and then Manchester United and the England youth set up. 12. 2nd: DAVID SEAMAN
Posh years: 1982-84. Posh appearances: 106. Obviously his multiple trophies with Arsenal and his 75 England caps make Seaman the man who turned into the best player Posh have ever seen in their colours. never mind the best goalkeeper. He's even had a suite named after him at London Road just to establish his position! He was outstanding for Posh, albeit in Division Four, and it became a surprise when he didn't save a penalty, before he was sold for £100k to Birmingham City. He also starred for QPR before his career really took off with the Gunners. But did he show the best form of any Posh goalkeeper? I don't think so. Photo: David Lowndes
