But they’ve had so me brilliant number ones in the past.
Here are my top 13 Posh goalkeepers of all time, in reverse order. They have to be goalkeepers I’ve seen in action (first game, 1972) and they have to have made at least 15 appearances.
My judgement is based on how they played for Posh. I also include information on what happened to them after they left the club.
Let me know what you think.

13. 1st IAN BENNETT
Posh years: 1991-93. Posh appearances: 89. 'Benno' had to wait a year for his Posh debut after becoming manager Chris Turner's first signing on a free transfer from Newcastle. His debut in a 3-3 Autoglass Trophy area final draw at Stoke City was dodgy, but he quickly grew into a regularly outstanding 'keeper for the club. He played a huge part as Posh delivered the best finish in the club's history, 10th in the old Division One, in the 1992-93 season, but a cash-strapped club had to cash in on their prize asset the following season and he left for Birmingham City for £325k. Bennett was an ever-present in Barry Fry's Birmingham side that won the won the Second Division and Auto Windscreen Trophy in the same season. He also played for Sheffield United, Leeds, Coventry City and Huddersfield Town and last season coached the goalkeepers at Middlesbrough. Photo: Paul Marriott
