Cornell has started his Posh career well and maybe one day he will break into our top 20 list of players to have played for both clubs.
Those who didn’t make the cut (mostly for obvious reasons) include Ian Benjamin, Neil Freeman, Wakeley Gage, Pay Gavin, Kelvin Langmead, David Longhurst, David Rennie, Gary Sargeant, Leroy Constantine, Kane Ferdinand, Eric Brookes, Junior Morias, Harry Beautyman, Derrick Christie, Louie Donowa, Scott McGleish and Nana Ofori-Twumasi.
Here are the PT picks in descending order. Do you agree with our number one?

13. 8th: BOBBY BARNES
Cobblers paid Bournemouth £70k for a former West Ham winger in 1989 and he bagged almost 40 goals in just over 100 starts for the club. But Cobblers were soon struggling financially and in administration when Posh came calling and picked up Barnes for a bargain £35k in February 1992. Injury problems followed Barnes in his two years at Posh and he made just 60 appearances (11 as a sub) scoring nine goals, but what an impact he made at London Road. Barnes was part of the team that won a club record nine Division Three matches in a row on the way to securing back-to-back promotions and a place in the top two divisions for the first time in Posh history. He famously delivered the cross from which Steve Cooper scored the winning play-off semi-final goal at Huddersfield before helping Posh establish themselves in Division One. Famously once paid a £50 club fine for a sending off in penny coins, leaving them bagged up in manager Chris Turner's office!

14. 7th: LEON MCKENZIE
This strong and pacy striker made an immediate impact when Posh boss Barry Fry took him on loan from Crystal Palace in 1998 and his return on a full-time contract for a cut-price £25k two years later was greeted with great joy. He was the star of a couple of decent Third Division Posh teams before Norwich City took him to Carrow Road for £325k in 2004. Norwich went on to sell him for Coventry City for £1 million in 2006. McKenzie scored 59 goals in 118 Posh appearances so one every two games, a great effort for a modern striker. He did even better at Cobblers late in his career with 10 goals in 17 appearances.

15. 6th: FRANK RANKMORE
This rugged centre-back came highly recommended to Posh by Derek Dougan and by the time he left the club for Cobblers in 1968 he had made a Posh record 231 appearances and scored eight goals. Regarded as one of the best centre-backs to ever play for Posh, Rankmore won his only Welsh cap after starring for the club in their club record FA Cup run to the quarter-finals in the 1964-65 season. Rankmore made 103 appearances for Cobblers before retiring to to run a pub/restaurant in his home town of Cardiff City.

16. 5th: JIM HALL
Posh's record Football League goalscorer with 137 goals spread over eight seasons at London Road following a transfer from Cobblers in 1967. Big Jim made just 56 appearances in four years at Cobblers. He passed 20 goals for a season four times at Posh and was a key man in the 1973-74 Fourth Division title-winning side. Hall bagged eight Posh hat-tricks before returning to Cobblers in 1975 and scoring 30 goals in 70 appearances. Hall played 334 times for Posh (5 as a sub).
