Cornell has started his Posh career well and maybe one day he will break into our top 20 list of players to have played for both clubs.
Those who didn’t make the cut (mostly for obvious reasons) include Ian Benjamin, Neil Freeman, Wakeley Gage, Pay Gavin, Kelvin Langmead, David Longhurst, David Rennie, Gary Sargeant, Leroy Constantine, Kane Ferdinand, Eric Brookes, Junior Morias, Harry Beautyman, Derrick Christie, Louie Donowa, Scott McGleish and Nana Ofori-Twumasi.
Here are the PT picks in descending order. Do you agree with our number one?

17. 4th: GABY ZAKUANI
One of the great Posh warriors, a centre-back who put his body on the line helping to enable some high-class players to strut their stuff further forward. Zakuani joined Posh from Fulham in September 2008 and helped Posh to promotion to the Championship for just the second time in the club's history that season. Zakuani was also a star man of the 2010-11 League One promotion-winning side. In two spells at Posh (he played in Greece in between) Zakuani made 253 appearances (11 as a sub) and scored nine goals before moving to Cobblers on a free transfer in June, 2016. He made just 25 appearances for Cobblers, scoring twice.

18. 3rd: TOMMY ROBSON
Robson made his Football League debut for Cobblers aged 17 in March, 1962 and scored in a 2-0 win over Posh at London Road. After assisting Cobblers on their spectacular rise from the Fourth Division to the First Division, he joined Chelsea and then Newcastle before dropping down to play for Posh in November 1968 for £20k. It didn't start great after a falling out with manager Jim Iley, but it turned out okay in the end as Robson made a club record 559 Posh appearances (45 as sub) and scored 128 goals, a total bettered only by Jim Hall in the club's Football League era. Robson would probably vie with Chris Turner for the title of Posh's favourite son. He spent 13 full seasons at the club as a player, retiring at the age of 37 in 1981.

19. 2nd: IVAN TONEY
A weedy looking forward called Ivan Toney made his Cobblers debut aged 16 in an FA Cup tie at Bradford City in 2012. He went on to score 13 goals in 60 appearances for his hometown club before Newcastle paid an undisclosed sum for his potential. Toney journeyed around numerous Football League clubs on loan without making too big an impact, but a move to Posh for a reported £250k in August 2018 transformed his career to such an extent he's now getting tipped for England honours. In two years at Posh, Toney scored 48 goals in 94 appearances (17 as a sub) to earn a £10 million move to Brentford for whom he is currently starring in the Premier League. By the end of his time at Posh his power allied to a great technique and touch as well as deadly finishing ability led to favourable comparisons with all the Posh greats. But there is one player to have represented Posh and Cobblers who we regard as an even better player.

20. 1st: TONY ADCOCK
Arise Sir Tony Adcock, one of the classiest players in Posh history. The Teddy Sheringham of the lower divisions (no great pace, but superb control and vision) was an instant hit at Posh when manager Chris Turner raided financially-stricken Cobblers and signed him for just £30k in January, 1991. Hero worship soon followed as a superb strike partnership with Ken Charlery propelled Posh into the old Division One for the first time in the club's history. When Charlery left the following season Adcock stayed and topped the Posh scoring charts for two seasons in a row in the second tier. His bare statistics of 39 goals in 130 Posh appearances (7 as a sub) don't do the man's quality justice. Adcock scored 12 goals in 39 appearances for Cobblers before Posh rescued him.
